Description

This category contains genetic risk scores for blood pressure.

Genetic risk scores (GRS) for systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were constructed using 1953 of 2103 independent variants identified by the International Consortium of Blood Pressure and present in the MCPS dataset (see reference). Alleles were aligned to be trait-increasing, and GRSs were constructed by multiplying allele counts with relevant weights from the Million Veteran Program trans-ancestry GWAS (genome-wide association study) meta-analysis of SBP or DBP. See Supplementary Data Item S1 from Publication 28. GRS generated for all participants with plausible blood pressure measurements and genetic data passing QC. Participants included in the analyses for the paper (which had specific age inclusion criteria) can be identified from Field 1198.
